<br />.~... <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />88-52 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF OPTICAL SCAN VOTING EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />Whereas, the City has anticipated conversion from lever <br />to optical scan voting equipment; <br /> <br />Whereas, as the benefits of this conversion include <br />continuous receipt of ballots, ability to conduct a recount, <br />ease in expansion of a precinct, ease in transport and set-up, <br />automatic totalling of votes cast, and less likelihood of <br />malfunction; <br /> <br />Whereas, the cost for each precinct would be: <br /> <br />Optech III-P <br />memory pack <br />carrying case <br />voting booths (10 @ $170) <br /> <br />$4,800 <br />225 <br />40 <br />1,700 <br /> <br />$6,765 <br /> <br />Whereas, the State of Minnesota has qualified the vendor <br />of Business Records Corporation to supply this equipment; <br /> <br />Now, therefore be it resolved that: <br /> <br />1. The purchase of the above equipment is authorized <br />for a total of $40,590. <br /> <br />2. The existing lever machines shall be disposed of <br />in the manner deemed most profitable. <br /> <br />3. The Finance Director and City Manager shall be <br />authorized to execute any agreement necessary to allow Ramsey <br />County to provide the programming supply. <br /> <br />4.
