<br />" <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.. <br /> <br />88-27 <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE MINNESOTA <br />TAX INCREMENT FINANCING ACT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a bill (Bill) has been introduced in the <br />Minnesota Legislature to modify Minnesota Statutes, <br />section 469.174 through 469.179 (Tax Increment Financing <br />Act); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Bill contains provisions which could <br />impair the City's efforts to encourage development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Bill would leave the cities of <br />Minnesota, which are the primary governmental entities <br />responsible for economic development, with fewer tools to <br />prevent the flight of capital and human resources from <br />the state. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council <br />of the City of New Brighton that New Brighton is on <br />record as opposed to passage of the Bill. The City Clerk <br />is authorized and directed to transmit a copy of this <br />resolution to the Minnesota legislature. <br /> <br />Adopted this 8th day of March, 1988. <br /> <br />'/rd;!~,~ <br /> <br />Robert J.
