<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, January 13, 1998, <br />at 7:30 p,m, in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Gregori, Gunderman, Larson, and Samuelson, <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke <br /> <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br /> <br />City Manager Matthew Fulton administered the oath of office to newly elected <br />Councilmembers George Gregori and Char Samuelson. Their terms of office would be <br />effective January 1, 1998 - December 31, 2001. <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Gregori, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE DECEMBER 18, 1997, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Larson, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Park, <br />Recreation, and Environmental Commission - December 3, 1997, <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Gunderman, to APPOINT STEVE LARSON AS <br />ACTING MAYOR FOR 1998. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried, <br /> <br />The 1997-1998 New Brighton Royal Family members introduced themselves: Miss New <br />Brighton - Heather Emerson; New Brighton Princesses Heidi Hall and Renee Varghese; <br />Junior Commodore - Jason Sandquist; Junior Queen - Kayla Hillbeck; Junior Princess - <br />Danielle Norgren; and Junior Vice Commodore ~ Glen Senecal.
