<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, January 14, 1997, at <br />7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, and Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke and Councilmember Samuelson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Barbara Jeanetta, Assistant to the City Manager <br /> <br />Council A~enda <br /> <br />Gunderman added an item to the Special Order of Business, and requested a discussion <br />regarding the 10th St. railroad crossing. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to APPROVE THE AMENDED COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE DECEMBER 11 AND DECEMBER 18, 1996, COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Williams, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Cable Advisory <br />Commission - November 21 and December 19, 1996; and Public Safety Commission- <br />November 21, 1996. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Gunderman presented Williams with a Muskie fishing award. <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Gunderman, to APPOINT ROGER WILLIAMS AS <br />ACTING MAYOR FOR 1997. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Williams said the New Brighton Lions Club donated $190 to be used for awards in the New <br />Brighton holiday lighting contest. He thanked the Lions for their many contributions <br />throughout the year.
