<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Wednesday, December 18, 1996, <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke (arrived 7:35 p.m.), Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, Samuelson and Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />Also Present: Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Jill Hanson, Economic Development Specialist <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Samuelson welcomed Councilmember of the Month, George Gregori. <br /> <br />Council A~enda <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND APPROVE <br />THE DECEMBER 5, 1996, BUDGET HEARING MINUTES. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Samuelson, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Economic <br />Development Commission - November 12, 1996. <br /> <br />Mayor Benke arrived at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Mayor Benke PROCLAIMED THE WEEK OF JANUARY 26-31,1997, AS ST. JOHN <br />THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC SCHOOL WEEK IN NEW BRIGHTON. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Chair Larry Baker explained the following 1996 projects the <br />commission reviewed: Industrial Equities ~ Brost site (46,000 sq. ft. office/warehouse); <br />Industrial Equities - Lakeview Business Campus (87,000 office/warehouses); Industrial <br />Equities - Brighton Corp. Park (office/warehouse); McKinley Hill (manufacturing building); <br />EPA - MacGillis & Gibbs (water treatment facility); Innsbruck Nursing Home (side <br />entryway addition); Hypro Corp. (addition); City of Minneapolis Water Works (reservoir); <br />three apartment garages; and Housing Committee analysis.
