I am pleased that, once again, I can report, on behalf of the
City Council and Staff that our past year has been successful and that we are
prepared to meet the challenges facing us in 1995.

The list of accomplishments for 1994, our listing of "Gold Stars", is long and
varied. Many of the stars involve making City government more efficient and
effective. Some items may seem mundane, like remote water meter reading,
improved telephones and computers, a five-year financial plan. Most of our "Stars"
are behind the scenes. But these actions, and the people who make them happen,
continue to make New Brighton a better place.

Some of the stars are more visible, like the review and reorganization of our
advisory board network, interconnection of our water system to Fridley as part of
our ongoing groundwater cleanup partnership with the U.S. Army, our street rehab
projects, and park improvements. Each of these accomplishments and others too
numerous to mention will have long term paybacks for our residents and businesses.

Council Al!enda

Council Minutes

Special Order of
Business

Mayor's State of the
City Address
