<br />II <br />II <br /> <br />- ",' <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />85-33 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL 27, 1985 AS "ARBOR DAY" IN THE CITY <br />OF NEW BRIGHTON AND THE MONTH OF MAY AS "ARBOR MONTH" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Mounds View and New Brighton have <br />entered into a joint powers agreement to provide urban forestry <br />programs to the two respective cities, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of New Brighton and Mounds View have <br />been recognized as Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day <br />Ii Foundation and desire to continue their tree planting ways, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Mounds view and New Brighton are <br />planting trees in Silver View Park and Meadow Wood Park, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Arbor Day is a time to appreciate the contributions <br />made by shade trees to our cities and to undertake a coordinated <br />and cooperative effort to increase the shade tree population <br />within our respective neighborhood's parks. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayors of the <br />Cities of New Brighton and Mounds view do hereby proclaim <br />April 27 and May 4, 1985, as "Arbor Days" in each of our <br />respective cities. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that both cities hereby proclaim <br />the month of 'May as "Arbor Month" and call upon the public <br />spirited and foresighted citizens to assist in the planting <br />of trees now for the enjoyment and use of future generations. <br /> <br />Adopted this 23rd day of April, 1985. <br /> <br />L~) <br />~cu~a~ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Henry S. oa, City Manager <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />,.' <br />" <br /> <br />,i --. <br />
