I I I COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, February 9, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. Present: Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Brandt, Gunderman, and Larson Absent: Councilmember Williams Also Present: Henry Sinda, City Manager Kevin Locke, Community Development Director Margaret Egan, Finance Director Allen Bauer, Fire Chief Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant Charl,i e LeFevere, City Attorney Council Minutes Brandt asked that corrections to the minutes be made on page 17: replace "she would more though" with "there should be more thought"; and replace "reward i ng" and "award i ng . " Motion by Larson, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 26, 1988, COUNCIL MEETING AS CORRECTED. 4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried Commission Minutes Mayor Benke, with council consent, received the Economic Develop- ment Commission minutes of November 25, 1987, the Environmental Quality Commission minutes of December 9, 1987, and Citizen Study Committee minutes of November 23, 1987. Special Order of Business Mayor Benke welcomed three scouts and Wayne Ward, leader of Troop #106; Ward indicated the scouts are working on communications, merit badges, and citizenship in the community. John Hearn, Commander of Tri-County American Legion, introduced other members of the Legion that were in attendance, and presented Allen Bauer, Fire Chief, with a donation of $2,500.00 for the Fire Department. Motion by Benke, seconded by Gunderman, to APPOINT STEVEN JONAK TO THE CITIZEN STUDY COMMITTEE WITH A TERM TO EXPIRE DECEMBER 31, 1989. 4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried Council Minutes Commission Minutes Special Order of Business Troop #106 Tri-City American Legion Donation Council Appts.
