Correspondence from Messiah Lutheran Church. The Board acknow~edged their concern and suggested that Wednesday ni~:ht programming be avoided when possible. V. Unfinished Business -None VI New Business Snowmobiling Sunny Square - Westling expressed concern ovcr snowmobiling i_n and around the park. Carlson suggested that throvah his involvement with the snow- mobile patrol he might be able to help solve the problem. Development Contro~_s - :~oLlg Laka Area - Staff reviewed a proposal by the planning com~riission to regulate develop- !~.a:~, near the future park. Barry Johnson, Director of Community Development nor the City, will review the pro- posa:~ in depth at the I'ebiuary meeting. Election of Officers - Motion by Kern, seconded by Cook that Arlyn Gunderman be elected Chairperson with E17_en Dahl to serve as Chairperson in his absence - motion carried.. Silver Oak ti,?allw Path - Staff reviewed efforts of the past year to bui~.d a walk path from 20th Avenue SW to Silver Oak School/Park and indicated that it appeared likely that land condemnation would be necessary to acquire a wa~.k path easement. The Board suggested that they supported a sidewalk on Oakwood c.u a partial solution to tt~e problem of access to the area. Park Use Ordinance - The Board reviewed the Ramsey County Park Use Ordinance ar~d ?aill consid?r the adapted version at its February meei;ing. Totem Pole Meeting Date - The Board decided to set February lst, 8•~0 p.m. to meet with residents from the Totem Pole Park area to discuGs ~+ark renovation. Free Skating - Hansen Park - Dahl relayed concerns on the size and condition of the free skating area at Hansen Park. Staff explained t'nat expansion and/or relocation had been delayed by the Diteh #2 project but suggested that some interim enlargement of the present area rriight; be possible but that relocation would likely have to be a capital improvement project.
