He further recommended that the
ing with the school district and soliciting
be explored.
Weissman agreed that a lighted field was needed; he stated that it
would provide a multiple use and extended use of a single facility.
Cost estimates ranging from $32,000 to $50,000 have been received for
lighting a combination football/baseball/hockey area.
Dahl concurred that a lighted facility would have several advantages,
however, there did not appear to be a suitable location available
for such a facility.
It was pointed out that the school district and the village would have
different needs concerning lighted facilities. The schools would tend
to require single-purpose, high-quality lighting for interscholastic
competition. Tnlhereas the village would be more interested in multi-
purpose recreational kinds of uses.
Hagemeyer questioned the priority of a lighted facility. He suggested
that this was a masculine facility being added to the already masculine-
oriented.park system. He wondered whether it would be of use to the.
large percentage of the children in the village.
