~~ <br />N <br />E, PARK BOARD MEETING <br />June 11, 1969 <br />8:00 p.m. <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:05 p.m. <br />Present: Gunderman, Hagemeyer, Weissman. <br />Mr. Skiba appeared at the meeting to discuss problems and vandalism <br />at the parks. <br />MOVABLE DOORS ON SHELTERS <br />Motion by Hagemeyer, seconded by Weissman to leave the movable doors <br />on the shelters for this summer and reconsider the possibility of <br />removing the doors next season. carried <br />LIGHTS ON ~iVARMING HOUSE <br />Motion by Weissman to have lights turned toward warming house and <br />remain lit until 1 a.m. which might eliminate a little of the <br />vandalism on the houses and on the general park area. <br />LETTERS "NAMING THE PARK CONTEST." <br />Letters from League of Women Voters and Sportsmans Club on activity <br />participation in "Naming the Park Contest" E11en Dahl represented <br />the League of Women Voters (633-0088), Mr. James Larkeski {560-5712) <br />and Mr. Charles Peterson (633-5830) represented New Brighton Sportsman <br />Club. Mr. Frank Haberkorn (633-8998) is Jaycee representative on <br />participating on "Naming the Park Contest." <br />DUST DURING CONSTRUCTION OF 7TH STREET SITE <br />Suggestions by Park Board to Mr. Schaefer to contact contractor to <br />water down roads in dry season to eliminate dust during construction <br />of 7th Street site. <br />Also suggested Mr. Schaefer find out or determine what will happen to <br />the half streets next to the 7th Street park. <br />PARK ORDINANCE PROHIBITING MOTORIZED VEHICLES IN PARKS <br />Park Board suggests that Village Manager put more emphasis on park <br />ordinance prohibiting motorized vehicles in parks and emphasising <br />to the police department to issue warning tags or the like to <br />eliminate this problem before it gets out of hand. <br />DISCUSSION ON ITEM #1 ON AGENDA <br />Park Board would like it known to the Council and other interested <br />parties that the members of the park board were not involved in the <br />discussions on selling park land and developing of roads for access <br />to the Rice Creek Villa project. <br />
