' NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />AUGLTS'_r 1, 1984 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by ViEe~Chair Dahl,. <br />II. Members Present: Carlson, .Dahl, Hogan, Johnson, Rose, Van Hatten <br />Council Rep, Janecek <br />Members Absent: Gunderman, Olson <br />III. Minutes <br />A. Minutes of July 11, 1984 will be changed as follows: <br />Page 4, line twelve will be deleted completely from-the minutes <br />per-Dave Van Hatten's request. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council. Report. <br />Janecek said that Centex withdrew their proposal. Residents <br />expressed concern about the traffic on 12th Ave, & 6th Street <br />(mostly because of the softball games) and asked for a stop <br />sign. <br />Anderson said there may be other ways to resolve the problem but <br />a stop sign will not help. <br />Dahl said generally there is not a whole lot of traffic in the <br />area. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />The Committee did not meet in July. It probably will not meet <br />until September. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Development Guide/Policy Plan <br />Anderson said the sub-committee went through the guide and picked <br />out areas that should .have been emphasized or changed, If no <br />comment a~?pears that means it was agreed to but nothing needed <br />emphasis or changes. This will go to the Council after the Park <br />Board discusses. <br />A copy of Maurie's memo indicating changes and comments to the <br />Guide/Policy Plan is attached. <br />Dahl asked how specific you want the Park Board to be. <br />Anderson suggested confining the discussion to items that impact <br />New Brighton. There. are about 50 different governmental units <br />and agencies reviewing and all have their own perspective, <br />Carlson asked•.~~f we key in on theitems already highlighted, <br />will we be focusing on New. Brighton? <br />Anderson said yes. <br />
