<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />84-12 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT LABOR SERVICES, INC., LOCAL NUMBER 113, <br />FOR 1984 AND 1985. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, law enforcement employees of the City of New Brighton provide <br />a valuable and necessary service to the City of New Brighton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the above employees are represented by Law Enforcement Labor <br />Servi ces, I nc. , Local Number 113; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of New <br />Brighton that the Mayor and the City Manager are authorized to enter <br />into an agreement with Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc., Local <br />Number 113, for 1984 and 1985 with the following changes from the 1983 <br />contract: <br /> <br />1. Five precent (5%) salary increase for 1984 and five percent (5%) <br />salary increase for 1985. <br /> <br />2. A twenty dollar ($20.00) maximum increase for medical insurance <br />for 1984 and a twenty dollar ($20.00) maximum increase in <br />medical insurance for 1985. <br /> <br />3. The first step in the grievance procedure shall be in writing <br />and if either party fails to respond the grievance shall auto- <br />matically be appealed to the next highest step in the grievance <br />procedure. <br /> <br />4. Uniform and equipment items are specified and include investiga- <br />tion work related items. <br /> <br />5. Employees drawing workers' compensation benefits will not <br />receive payor sick leave which provides for more after-tax <br />take-home pay than the employee made while working. <br /> <br />6. Employees working overtime will have an option of receiving <br />one-and-one-hal f (l~) times payor accumul ating compensatory <br />time at the same rate to a maximum of 40 hours. The compensa- <br />tory time would have to be used within 60 days or it will be <br />cashed out. <br /> <br />7.
