<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Special Meeting <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a special meeting of the New Brighton City Council <br />was held Wednesday, May 30, 1984, at 6:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 <br />Fifth Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Gregory Harcus, Counci1members Roger Blomquist, Jeanette <br />Janecek, Steve Schmidt <br /> <br />Absent: Counci1member Bob Benke <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: James Winkels, Director of Community Development <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Winkels reviewed the project, noting that residents <br />and developers were in attendance. Winkels indicated <br />that he would be sending a notice to each area resi- <br />dent, inviting them to a meeting where the process <br />would be explained. <br /> <br />Harcus indicated he was comfortable with the details <br />and the numbers as received last Thursday. <br /> <br />Schmidt also felt comfortable and believed it is in <br />the city's best interest to approve the document. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist, to AUTHORIZE <br />THE MAYOR AND THE MANAGER TO EXECUTE DEVELOPMENT <br />AGREEMENTS BETWEEN CIMARRON BUILDING ASSOCIATES AND <br />THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Winkels stated that we will have to initiate rezonings <br />and there are many things to do this summer to process <br />this project. Winkels suggested rezoning to B4 district <br />and recommended, by motion, to initiate the process for <br />a Planning Commission public hearing on June 19, 1984. <br /> <br />Barbara Burkheimer, 909 Tenth Street NW, wanted to know <br />if it's going to happen or if it isn't. <br /> <br />Harcus indicated there were a number of things to do, <br />including a number of public hearings, and that it would <br />be pretty hard to predict what will happen. <br /> <br />Winkels stated that the goal is tD mail a letter <br />scheduling a meeting sometime next week or the week after. <br /> <br />Harcus indicated he was aware of the residents' under- <br />tai nty. <br /> <br />Development Agreement - <br />Cimarron Building Assoc. <br />
