Therefore, members of the immediate family <br />(as defined above) will not be considered for employment at the <br />same location if such employment would put the two in a super- <br />visory/subordinate capacity or if one of the individuals is in <br />a position with access to confidential material. RESOLVED, that the New Brighton City Council <br />resolves that permanent employees presently working in the same <br />department from the same immediate family, be grand fathered from <br />this policy and that for those departments in which this situatio <br />exists, the following policy shall apply: <br /> <br />1. rfi,embers of an immediate family employed wi thin the same <br />department may not have a direct reporting relation- <br />ship with another member of their iw~ediate family or <br />in a confidential relationship. <br />2. Members of an immediate family may not be in the positic <br />of approving either the time card or the salary of <br />another member of their immediate family. <br />3. Time cards and employee scheduling within the affected <br />departments shall be approved by the City Manager. <br />4. If two people at the same location become related during <br />the course of their employment and are in a supervisory/ <br />subordinate relationship, or in a position requiring <br />confidentiality, one of the two must transfer depart- <br />ments or locations, if a position for which he/she is <br />_-----.....:ql:i~lified is available.
