<br />RESOLurION AOOPI'ING A REQUEsr FOR PROPOSALS FDR A CABLE ~lICATIONS
<br />SYSTEM FDR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGH'lDN

<br />WHEREAS, The City of New Brighton has resolved that the develo];!Ilent
<br />of a joint cable television system is in the best interest of the City,
<br />and:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, The City has received a study report assessing corrrnunications
<br />needs, and has detennined to continue the cable franchising process, and:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, The City of New Brighton has participaterl in the North
<br />Suburban Cable Conmission (Carmission), and:'
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, The cannission was delegated the ~sponsibility to prepare
<br />ani adopt and did prepare and adopt a Request, for Prop:>sals (RFP) and a
<br />preliminary draft franchise ordinance for a cable carrmunications system
<br />for the City of New Brighton along with tPe Cities of ~en Hills, Falcon
<br />Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, lYbunds View, ,NOrth Oaks, Rosevi11e,
<br />st. Anthony and Shoreview, Minnesota, and:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, The City is the franchising authority, and:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 4.140 (D) (1) of the Official Rules of the Minnesota
<br />Cable Ccmnunications Board requires that the franchising authority shall
<br />adopt in a public hearing the Request for PropJsals, and:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Notice of said public hearing was published in the official
<br />newspaper of the City of New Briqhton on June 4 .' 1981, and:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Manbers of the public have been afforded a reasonable
<br />opportuni ty to be heard.
<br />
<br />NCW, THF,REFOFE, be i t resolved by the New Brighton City
<br />Council as follows:
<br />
<br />1. The City of New Brighton adopts the RFP and receives the
<br />draft preliminary tranchise ordinance.
<br />
<br />2. The RFP acccropanie:l by a draft of the preliminary
<br />franchise ordinance shall be issued by the Corrmission
<br />on behalf of the City of New Brighton on or beforeJ!:lt,y:'-
<br />1~, 1981, and shall be on file in the City Manager's office
<br />of the City of New Brighton.
<br />
<br />3. The City of Ne.I}' Brighton hereby delegates to the Ccmnission
<br />the responsibility to perform on behalf of the City all tasks
<br />incident to the issuance of the RFP as required. by the Official
<br />Rules of the Minnesota Cable Camnmications Board.
<br />
<br />4. The City of New Brighton hereby delegates to the Carmission
<br />the responsibility to perform on behalf of the City all tasks
<br />incident to the receipt and evaluation of any prop:>sals received
<br />by the Carmission, to culminate in the recalTl'el1dation to the
<br />city by the Carmission of a cable canpanyand a final franchise
<br />ordinance to be considered by the City in its regular ordinance
<br />procedures.
