<br />II <br />,! <br />1\ <br />,. <br />" <br />i! <br />ii <br /> <br />:.9 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2311 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />'RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NEW BRIGHTON HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />!TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN <br />RIGHTS FOR A NO-FAULT GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS the New Brighton Human Rights commission is a duly <br />authorized commission of the City of New Brighton, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the New Brighton Human Rights Commission's purpose <br />is to secure for all citizens equal opportunity in employment, <br />housing, public accomodations, public services and education <br />and full participation in the affairs of this community by <br />assisting the State Department of Human Rights in implementing <br />the Minnesota State Act Against Discrimination and by advising <br />the City Council on long range programs to improve community <br />relations in the City, and <br /> <br />i WHEREAS Section 2-71(b) of the New Brighton City Code states <br />ithat it is a responsibility of the New Brighton Human Rights <br />commission to "draft a memorandum of agreement with the State <br />Department of Human Rights for the purpose of determining reg- <br />ulatory and enforcement procedures", and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the No-Fault Grievance Procedure replaces the pre- <br />,:viously approved Memorandum of Agreement between the City and <br />,the State Human Rights Department, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />,City of New Brighton, Minnesota approves the participation of the <br />New Brighton Human Rights Commission in the No-Fault Grievance <br />Procedure with the State Human Rights Commission. <br /> <br />; Adopted this <br /> <br />11th <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />March <br /> <br />, 1980. <br /> <br />/1 <br /> <br />" " /f .." <br />C,---' ~~o~I v{j'J <br />Senden, Mayor <br /> <br />......-" <br /> <br />'.<2.,.?-1__....~(.) <br /> <br />James W. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Y;:;:-;'A) 0,.
