' <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 552 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ~1ENDING SECTIONS 6-95, 17-5 AND 29-1 OF THE <br />NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE <br /> <br />The New Brighton City Council does ordain: <br /> <br />Section I. <br /> <br />section IT. <br /> <br />Section TIT. <br /> <br />That Section 6-95, Citation, is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />In the event any dog or cat is found in <br />violation of this chapter and the owner or <br />keeper is known or can be ascertained from <br />available information, the dog or cat shall <br />be returned to its owner and a citation for <br />such violation shall be issued to the owner <br />or keeper of such animal. Citations may be <br />issued by licensed police officers, community <br />service officers, and police reserve officers. <br />If the owner or keeper be unknown, then such <br />dog or cat shall be impounded. <br /> <br />That Section 17-5, Enforcement, is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />It shall be the duty of the police to enforce <br />the provisions of this chapter, and the city <br />council may, by resolution, delegate to other <br />officers or agencies power to enforce particular <br />provisions of this chapter, including the power <br />to inspect private premises. The officers <br />charged with enforcement of this chapter shall <br />take all reasonable precautions to prevent the <br />commission or maintenance of public nuisances. <br />The City Sanitarians, license police officers, <br />community service officers and police reserve <br />officers are authorized to enforce the provisions <br />of this chapter by issuing citations in lieu of <br />arrest or continued detention. <br /> <br />That Section 29-1, R~gulations adopted, is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(a) The provisions of Minnesota Statutes, <br />including but not limited to Chapters <br />168, 169, 171 and 65B, including all <br />subsequent amendments thereof, are <br />hereby adopted as an ordinance regulating <br />the use of highways, streets and alleys, <br />semi-public property within the city, and <br />are hereby incorporated in and made a part <br />of this chapter as completely as if set <br />out here in full. <br />
