' ORDINANCE NO. 552 STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON AN ORDINANCE ~1ENDING SECTIONS 6-95, 17-5 AND 29-1 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE The New Brighton City Council does ordain: Section I. section IT. Section TIT. That Section 6-95, Citation, is hereby amended to read as follows: In the event any dog or cat is found in violation of this chapter and the owner or keeper is known or can be ascertained from available information, the dog or cat shall be returned to its owner and a citation for such violation shall be issued to the owner or keeper of such animal. Citations may be issued by licensed police officers, community service officers, and police reserve officers. If the owner or keeper be unknown, then such dog or cat shall be impounded. That Section 17-5, Enforcement, is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be the duty of the police to enforce the provisions of this chapter, and the city council may, by resolution, delegate to other officers or agencies power to enforce particular provisions of this chapter, including the power to inspect private premises. The officers charged with enforcement of this chapter shall take all reasonable precautions to prevent the commission or maintenance of public nuisances. The City Sanitarians, license police officers, community service officers and police reserve officers are authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter by issuing citations in lieu of arrest or continued detention. That Section 29-1, R~gulations adopted, is hereby amended to read as follows: (a) The provisions of Minnesota Statutes, including but not limited to Chapters 168, 169, 171 and 65B, including all subsequent amendments thereof, are hereby adopted as an ordinance regulating the use of highways, streets and alleys, semi-public property within the city, and are hereby incorporated in and made a part of this chapter as completely as if set out here in full.
