April 5, 1989 Park Board Minutes Page 5
Anderson said there may be some black willow bushes that
will come out but there will be more trees when the project
is completed than there are now.
Meyer said that the city may have to repaint the wall if
graffiti goes up after the county paints.
Anderson said there may be a few areas where we can't plant.
We are expecting some vandalism. We see a lot of it.
Meyer asked where the money for this project is coming from.
Anderson said we have some projects from last year that were
under budget so it is surplus money.
Marilyn Rose, 1539 12th Terrace N.W., asked if signs could
be put up stating no swimming and no motorized vehicles.
Anderson stated that we usually put up signs with 8 or 10
park ordinance points listed at each entrance point.
Rose asked if they should call the Police if rules are
violated.
Anderson said yes.
Rose also wanted to make sure there would be trash
containers available..
Anderson said there would be 3 or 4 containers. We will
have one by the culvert where people fish.
A resident stated in the ordinance signs "no swimming" was
not mentioned.
Anderson said typically the sign will read something like
"swimming in designated areas only."
The resident commented that for liability reasons she would
think the city would want to put up the sign.
MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO RECOMMEND THE PIKE
LAKE TRAIL PLAN TO THE CITY COUNCIL.
