NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />MAY 3, 1989 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman Johnson. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, Olson, Rose, <br />Van Hatten and Council Rep. Gunderman <br />Brenda Taylor, Stockyard Days Coordinator for <br />the Park & Rec. Dept. was also present <br />Members absent: Kalina, Ocel, Seward <br />III. Minutes of April 5, 1989 <br />MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY EICHERS, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF <br />APRIL 5, 1989 AS SUBMITTED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Gunderman was not yet present so Anderson informed the Park <br />Board of a few of the things the council considered. <br />Anderson said at the last meeting the street project on 5th <br />Ave. and Old Hwy. 8 down to E2 will be upgraded. The Pike <br />Lake Trial concept was approved. Plans. and specs will be <br />done by Engineering. The Council will need to approve the <br />specs and then the contract will be let. Anderson said he <br />will negotiate the easements. Four people from the Pike Lake <br />area were present at the council meeting. The Park Board did <br />a good job of handling their questions before it went to the <br />council. <br />Johnson said he noticed there is nothing in the 1989 CIP for <br />the Pike Lake Trail. <br />Anderson said it was in the 1986 CIP. <br />Van Hatten said it should be shown somewhere that it was a <br />hold over. <br />Anderson said he is hoping for construction in mid-August. <br />Van Hatten asked if the church driveway could be done before <br />the trail. <br />Anderson said yes but it will probably be done at the same <br />time as the trail. <br />Olson asked if there was date set for the start of the work <br />on Long Lake Road. <br />Anderson said he didn't. know. <br />Carlson thought he heard October. <br />
