NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />AUGUST 3, 1988 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman Johnson <br />II. Members present: Johnson, Ocel, Olson, Rose, Seward, Van Hatten <br />Members absent: Carlson, Eichers, Kalina, and Representative Brandt <br />III. Minutes of July 6, 1988 <br />MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS <br />SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />None <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />Committee did not meet <br />V. New Business <br />A. Veterans Play Equipment <br />Anderson said the city will be purchasing play equipment as part <br />of the Veterans Park renovation. Half of the play equipment will <br />go in this fall and the rest next summer. Requests were sent out <br />asking what we could get for $12,000 in metal equipment. <br />Anderson said he wants to try metal because it is more durable. <br />Five playground companies responded to the requests mailed out. <br />Anderson said he wanted the Park Board's opinion both <br />aesthetically <br />and for the amount of equipment for the price. Anderson <br />mentioned that the Gametime equipment was aluminum rather than <br />steel. <br />Johnson asked the Park Board to individually express their <br />opinion for the aesthetic side. <br />Olson said she liked the Mexico Forge, Quality, and Gametime <br />equipment. She did not like Miracle and Iron Mountain equipment. <br />Van Hatten said he did not like Miracle and Gametime but he liked <br />Mexico Forge and Quality. <br />Seward liked the tic tac toe game on the Mexico Forge equipment. <br />Olson said she liked the roller slide on Mexico Forge and Quality <br />equipment. <br />Anderson said there is a roller slide at Silver Oak. <br />
