Minutes of May 4, 1988
MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO APPROVE THE MAY 4, 19.88
MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED.
IV. Correspondence
A. Council Report
Brandt said there was a meeting in May with Bill Morris and
residents regarding a community center. The group seemed
enthusiastic about establishing a community center. As a
follow up, a committee has been formed to see what is needed
and wanted. Brandt said she was appointed to the committee
because of her contact with the Park Board and Maurie will
also be working with the committee.
Brandt said the Council was surprised to receive a petition
from the Pike Lake Residents opposing the Pike Lake bike
trail.
Brandt told Anderson she thought he did an outstanding job
of handling the Park Board meeting last month.
Anderson said the DNR could find no black capped heron
nesting site on Pike Lake. They may be feeding there but
not nesting.
Eichers said the lake residents had raised the concern about
the lake being bottom platted. The reason it is platted
that way is in case the lake should ever dry up, there will
be no question about who owns the land.
Brandt said that in the letter received from Pike Lake
residents they mentioned there are other alternatives to a
trail, she felt they would want it to be park.
B. Long Lake Advisory Committee
No meeting was held
