April 6, 1988 Park Board Minutes ~ 12 <br />Van Hatten said the definition of a community center is <br />different to everyone. <br />Seward said it could be defined. <br />Carlson suggested having a mini survey at the Town Hall <br />meeting. You would be tapping those already interested <br />in-the city and these people could help make it happen. <br />Van Hatten suggested surveying the boards and <br />commissions . <br />Johnson felt doing the survey at the Town Hall meeting <br />was a good idea. <br />Anderson said the Town Hall Meeting was set two months <br />ago, the agenda is already set. The meeting is only 3 <br />days away. <br />Seward said a survey could be done real professionally. <br />Anderson said we are do for one. Usually one is done <br />about every 5 years. The .question is, if a survey is <br />taken, would you like a question on it regarding the <br />community center. <br />Brandt said she didn't think there is any question <br />whether the community center question should be on the <br />survey but wonders whether the information received <br />will be valid. <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. Town Hall Meeting April 9th, 8:30am - Noon City Hall <br />Anderson reminded the Park Board of this upcoming <br />event. <br />B. May Park Board Meeting at City Hall, Council Chambers <br />Anderson told the Park Board the May meeting would be <br />moved to City Hall in the Council Chambers because <br />there is a conflict at Brightwood Hills Community Room. <br />Anderson said there will be a hot agenda next month <br />too. South Pike Lake trail has a lot of opposition. <br />Johnson asked what they were opposed to. <br />Anderson said they don't think people should be able to <br />walk around the lake. They are afraid of .vandalism, <br />-etc. One woman wants an environmental impact study <br />done. <br />
