Long Lake Planning Issues
Page 2
The ordinance was sent to the Department of Natural Resources for
their approval as required by law. There were several changes
made to conform to DNR requirements and ultimately the ordinance
was approved by the City Council in May, 1982.
Using a maling list provided by the LLIA, copies of the ordinance
were mailed in June, 1982. Few, if any, complaints were received
when the ordinance was distributed and few complaints have been
received regarding its enforcement.
If the LLIA follows through on its demand for changes in the
ordinance and the Council is willing to consider changing the.
ordiance, I would recommend the following course of action. That
a study committee be formed, consisting of representation from
LLIA, LLAC, Park Board and local fishermen and that this
committee be charged with developing recommended changes that
assure equal access for all residents and conform to DNR regulations.
