<br />! <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NOy:2 ? <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF NEw BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAM~'EY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES GOVERNING CONDUCT <br />AND PROCEOORE OF THE VILLAGE Cc:utCIL OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON, RAMSEY COUN1Y, STATE OF <br />MINNESOT A. <br /> <br />The Village Council of the Village of New Brighton does ordain as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />Rule 1. The Village Council shall have a regular meeting Gn the <br /> <br />second Tuesday of each month at 8:00 o'clock p.m. and, if such Tuesday shall <br /> <br />fall on a holiday shall have its regular session the next following day, or <br /> <br />such time as the Council shall designate prior to the holiday, and adjourned <br /> <br />and special sessions at any other time the Council may deem proper. The <br /> <br />first meeting of the year shall be on January 2nd unless January 2nd shall <br /> <br />fall upon Saturday or Sunday in which event it shall be held on the next <br /> <br />regular business day following. All meetings shall be held in the Village <br /> <br />Hall unless othexwise specified by the Village Council-. <br /> <br />Rule 2. The Mayor shall preside at all meetings of the Council. In the <br /> <br />absence of the Mayor, the acting Mayor shall preside. The Council shall <br /> <br />choose an acting Mayor from the Trustees at the first meeting of each year. <br /> <br />In the absence of both the Mayor and the acting Mayor, the Trustees shall <br /> <br />elect one of their as a temporary chairman. The acting mayor and temporary <br /> <br />chairman when occuping the place of the mayor shall have the same privileges <br /> <br />as other members of the Council. <br /> <br />Rule 3. At all meetings of the Council, a majority of the Council members <br /> <br />elected shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a mdnority may <br /> <br />adjourn from day to day, and may compel the attendance of members, and <br /> <br />punish non-attendance. <br /> <br />Rule 4. At the hour appointed for a regular meeting, the members <br /> <br />shall be called to order by the Mayor, and in his absence by the acting Mayor, <br /> <br />and in the absence of both, by the Clerk. The Clerk shall call the roll, <br /> <br />note the absentees and announce whether a quorum be present. In the absence <br />
