Becker explained that the family based company, owned by Lee
Anderson, is made up of twenty-eight environmentally friendly companies. The company started
in 1964 as APi, Inc. and grew into APi Group in the 1980s. Its current revenue is roughly $1.2
billion, with roughly 7,000 employees worldwide. The company purchases privately owned
businesses that are interested in selling, but do not have a family member who is willing take
over the business; each company is allowed to maintain its own identity and brand.
Harmon asked where their current headquarters building is located and how does their current
location compare to their proposed new building. Becker replied that they are currently located
in Roseville and their current location is roughly half the size that has been proposed; they are
also planning space to grow into. While the current location does have warehouse space, they
are planning on consolidating the Roseville warehouse with another existing warehouse site.
Benke inquired if their growth trend will continue. Becker replied that after 9/11, their company
struggled and then rebounded. The company is currently not focused on growing, just for
growth's sake, but growing if there is an opportunity that is sound. Benke asked if the proposed
building would be big enough. Becker replied that the proposed building has already been
increased in size; however they are still in the process of deciding on the final plans.
