Approved <br /> pp <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> Regular Meeting—February 15, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Present: Commissioners Larry Baker, Karen Mann, Bruce Howard , Norm Schiferl, <br /> Tom O'Keefe and Paul Zisla <br /> Absent: Commissioner Jim O'Brien <br /> Also Present: Patrick Boylan, City Planner <br /> • Agenda Review: No changes <br /> • Approval of Minutes: January 18, 2005 <br /> • Council Action: City Council Member, Mary Burg <br /> reported successful meetings at neighborhood centers with good attendance and <br /> ideas. She also reported on a transportation meeting with the Association of <br /> Metropolitan Municipalities and some of the state legislators where they <br /> discussed problems with funding for transportation. Another meeting will be held <br /> March 24 at Majestic Oaks. <br /> Public Hearing: NC05-02 /LP05-02—Type 4 Non-conforming Use Permit and Site <br /> Plan Review. <br /> Consideration of proposal to add 22 detached garage units for the existing apartment <br /> building at 219 Old Highway 8 SW. Mr. David Campbell,property owner with Mr. <br /> David Steele, MWF Properties. Mr. Boylan gave an overview of the history of the <br /> project and the three nonconformities. <br /> David Steele of MWF Properties spoke to commissioners, stating the plan now has 22 <br /> garages, a fire hydrant, a fire truck turn around and a new location for a trash enclosure. <br /> He then asked for questions. He answered questions about the plantings and there was <br /> considerable discussion regarding the building materials for the garages. <br /> Motion by Baker, Second by Zisla to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> 6 Ayes, 0 Nays, MOTION CARRIED. <br /> Motion by Zisla, Second by Schiferl to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE <br /> ATTACHED RESOLUTION APPROVING NC05-02 AND LP05-02 subject to the <br /> following conditions: <br /> 1.
