Approved
Motion by Baker, Second by Mann to CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING UNTIL THE
OCTOBER 17,2006 MEETING.
6 Ayes, 0 Nays.
Action Item: Resolution concerning the expansions of Development District No. 1
and Consistency with the City's Comprehensive Plan.
Fernelius reported that the City has been involved with the redevelopment of the Marv's
Transmission site at 715 Old Hwy 8 NW. In October the Council will consider a
establishing a Tax Increment District financing for the site. However, prior to
establishing a TIF district the City must agree that the new district is consistent with the
Comprehensive Plan. The current development district does not include the Marv's
Transmission site, so the Council will need to expand the district to include this site. The
Planning Commission is asked to adopt a resolution affirming that the development is
consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan was updated this
summer to change the site from Low Density Residential to City Center.
Motion by O'Brien, Second by Zisla to APPROVE A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE
INCREASE IN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA TO THE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 IS
CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN.
6 Ayes, 0 Nays.
Announcements and Updates
Zisla asked that the City's cable channel be updated in regards to Sherman Associates
being ready to start construction of the Northwest Quadrant in the summer of 2006.
Adjournment
Janice Gundlach, City Planner
C.',Document,and Settinas`jgoepc`.I()cal Settings Tcmpoial Ink!'nct 1"ilcd',01 K28 09-19-2006.doc Page 7 of 7
