Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be <br /> <br />covered by the provisions of the Villa~e of New Brighton's workmen's compensation <br /> <br />insurance and liability insurance policies. <br /> <br />Subdivision 4. No person shall be appointed to the Auxiliary Poliee <br /> <br />Unit who has been convicted of a felony or gross misdemeanor charge. Any <br /> <br />applicant for the Auxiliary Police Unit who has been convicted of a <br /> <br />misdemeanor involving moral lPurpitude shall not be eligible for membership. <br /> <br />Subdivision 5. Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit Shall be paid <br /> <br />an hourly wage, said wage to be established from time to time by the Village <br /> <br />Council. <br /> <br />Subdivision 6. Before any member of the Auxiliary Police Unit <br /> <br />assumes his duties he must be sworn and take an oath as prescribed by the <br /> <br />Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Subdivison 7. Each Auxiliary Police Unit member shall be provided <br /> <br />with such suitable insignia or other identification as may be required by the <br /> <br />Chief of Police. No Auxiliary Police Unit member shall exercise any authority <br /> <br />over the persons or property of others without said identification. No person <br /> <br />except an authorized Auxiliary Police Unit member shall use the identification <br /> <br />or otherwise represent himself to be a member of the Auxiliary Police Unit. <br /> <br />Subdivision!. No Auxiliary Police Unit member shall carry any <br /> <br />firearm while on duty except on the express~ order of the Chief of the New <br /> <br />Brighton Police Department. <br /> <br />Section 6. Budget. The Chief of Police shall submit to the <br /> <br />Village Council a budget by the first day of September of each year for the <br /> <br />following year's activities. Said budget may be designated as part of the <br /> <br />Police bud~et or may be established as a separate item. <br /> <br />Section 7. Effective Date.
