4.C. Wireless telecommunications towers/antenna may be constructed to a height
that exceed the required setback up to 33%. As a Condition of approval, the City
must be provided with a licensed professional engineer's certification that the tower
is designed to collapse or to fail within a distance or zone shorter than the required
setback distance as determined by the height of the structure or telecommunications
tower. The required setback is specified in Section 4-600 (2) A-B.
Due to the need to order the tower to be built for specifications of this fall zone and for
the foundation to be designed specifically to this fall zone; my client requests that this be
a condition of the S.U.P. The engineer's certificate would then be provided with the
Building Permit application.
