Consideration of Agreement with Bell Lumber 8v Pole Company <br />regarding Odor Testing and Mitigation. Report No. 07-075. <br />City Manager, Dean Lotter explained that than item was brought up at a <br />nei~borhood meeting. Staff has met with Bell Pole, and is pleased with their efforts <br />to resolve the concern with odors associated with the company. „Director of <br />Community Development, Grant Fernelius gave a brief history, and reported. that Bell <br />Pale believes they have identi"ied the source of the odor. A second tank would <br />be used to mix the chemicals for the replacement solution. <br />Mayor Larson thanked representatives from Bell Pole for their efforts in educating <br />the council on the process used. <br />Councilmember Bauman requested an explanation of the process used. Shawn <br />Hom, representing Bell Pole explained that the current solution has chemicals that <br />are very sensitive to smell. The replacement chemicals are substantially less <br />odiferous. <br />~otion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Bauman to <br />approve the attached agreemeut with Bell Lumber and Pole company regarding odor <br />testing and mitigation efforts at 77$ First St SW. <br />S Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br />Municipal Advisory Commission <br />City_Manager-Dean_Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter announced the City Council and City Staff team-building retreat is scheduled for <br />April 12 and 13th. Also reported was an upcoming meeting with School District 282, April <br />17th at St. Anthony High School. <br />Council Member Marv. Bura --Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br />A joint meeting with Mounds View City council was attended, where common interests <br />were discussed. Apri124~' there will be meeting related to walking/biking trails at the <br />Family Service Center. The Parks and Recreation department was awarded a grant from the <br />Minnesota Transportation Department for $175,000. Congratulations were expressed to <br />son West and Srad Martens for their efforts in writing the grant. The funds will be used <br />owards our "safe routes to school" project. <br />Council Member Ann Hoffman -Economic Development Commission <br />EDC met earlier in the day. Kraus Anderson should be presenting a plan at the upcoming <br />Planning commission meeting. The owner of the former Sinclair station is planning to sell. <br />5.
