1. The City Engineer shall review the Preliminary Plat prior to hearing at the City Council. 2.The applicant shall file all necessary drawings with Ramsey County. 5 Ayes 0 Nays, Motion Carried. PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FROM LDR TO PQ-P. New Brighton’s current Comprehensive Plan calls for the future land use of the single family residential properties to be “Low Density, Residential”. It is believed a more appropriate future land use designation would be “Public & Quasi-Public” to better suit the type of activity in a combined Police and Fire Station. Staff believes that the specific residential parcels on the Future Land Use Map should be changed from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Public & Quasi-Public (PQ-P). It is expected the Met Council will approve the changes to the Plan. There was some discussion that in the future it might be better in these situations to amend the Comprehensive Plan first and then proceed with rezoning or do them simultaneously. CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. Moved and seconded to 5 Ayes 0 Nays, Motion Carried. Motion by Baker, Seconded by O’Keefe to WAIVE THE READING AND RECOMMEND APPROVAL TO THE CITY COUNCIL TO AMMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FROM LDR TO PQ – P SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: 1. City Staff shall work with the Metropolitan Council to gain approval of amended plan. 5 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion Carried. General Business - None. Announcements and Updates – The North Metro Home & Garden Fair will be held March 2, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Mounds View Community Center.
