<br />PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Regular Meeting August 19, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br />Commissioners Larry Baker, Jim O’Brien, Norm Schiferl, Karen Mann, <br /> <br />Jeff Schopf, Tom O’Keefe and Paul Zisla <br />Also Present: <br />Patrick Boylan, City Planner , Anne Hoffman, City Council Member <br /> <br />? <br /> Minute Approval - <br /> July 15, 2003 <br />? <br /> Agenda Review – <br /> Request to move the hearing for New Brighton <br />Village to the last public hearing due to a meeting time conflict. <br />? <br /> Council Action - <br /> Anne Hoffman, City Council Member, <br />reported the Council approved an amendment to the ordinance <br />for bar closing time at 2:10 a.m. <br />Held discussion with EDC members regarding the selection of a <br />residential developer in the NW Quadrant. <br />National Night Out was a huge success in New Brighton with over <br />170 gatherings. Police, Fire, Council and staff participated in <br />many of the gatherings. <br />Stockyard Days went very well. <br /> <br />Public Hearing: SP 03 – 07 Special Use Permit for a proposed detached garage <br />larger than 400 sq. ft. – Mr. Oscar Noyed <br />Consideration of an application for a Special Use Permit to construct a garage larger than <br />th <br />400 sq. ft. on a single family lot at 2260 7 Street NW. The site is zoned R-1 Single <br />Family Residential. The proposed structure would be 24’ by 30’ detached garage, 720 <br />sq. ft.. Applicant plans to use it to store vehicles, tools, etc.. <br /> <br />Mr. Boylan presented the background information and there were some questions by <br />commissioners. The applicant was available. No one at the meeting spoke to the issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Baker, Second by O’Brien to <br />CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />6 Ayes, 0 Nays, <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />Motion by O’Brien, Second by Schiferl to <br />WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE <br />ATTACHED RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF SP 03-07. <br /> <br />6 Ayes, 0 Nays, <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />GP03-02 General Development Plan Amendment, Minor Subdivision and Special <br />Use Permit for a proposal to join office buildings G & H in Main Street Village. <br />Request is to hold a Public Hearing and consider an amendment to the approved General <br />Development Plan for Main Street Village. The applicant is requesting a change to the <br />approved General Development Plan for Main Street Village. <br /> <br />The applicant has submitted plans for new building construction between the two office <br />buildings on the west side of Main Street Village located at 500 and 550 Main Street. <br />The effect would be to join the two existing buildings (bldg. G & H) to create one <br />building that would contain a cafeteria area on the first floor and conference space on the <br />second story. <br /> <br />
