Drivers and pedestrians must wait their turn when there is an oncoming car, ambulance, or delivery truck, as there is not enough room for two lanes of traffic. We must now zigzag around parked cars and pedestrians to get in and out of our community. Visitors to the Benedictine Health Center must do the same. Furthermore, with cars parked near the entrance to our townhome community (the intersection of Black Oak Drive and Pecks Woods Drive), it is difficult for drivers and pedestrians, as they back out of their respective driveways or drive out of the community, to see on-coming traffic or to see visitors walking to and from their cars. Snow and ice plowing is also a major concern because it cannot be done effectively while cars are parked on the street. Enclosure: Please find the following petition signed by 47 residents that would like the city to honor their request to post NO Parking signs on the WEST side of Black Oak Drive. (3 pages enclosed) Conclusion: We have contacted several city officials regarding this issue. We were told that the city would "look into approved use" issues with the facility. I was contacted, and told that the Benedictine Health Center was going to work on educating their visitors and staff regarding parking issues. Although there was an improvement, it is still not satisfactory. We respectfully ask the City to expedite this matter and honor our request. If there is any other information or requirements needed for this to move forward, please do not hesitate to call me.
