City Project 02 --06, Bicentennial Pond Improvements. Report No. 07-146 <br />Resolution 07059. <br />Director of Public Works, Grant Wyffels gave a history on the projects associated with <br />Bicentennial Pond. A neighborhood meeting was held, 6 of the 14 properties were in <br />attendance. A consensus was reached at the neighborhood meeting to continue the <br />project on a year to year basis. Councilmember Burg attended the neighborhood <br />meeting, she reported most were supportive of the plan; however the idea of exploring <br />different methods was suggested, because of the less then desirable outcome in the <br />recent past. The costs would be covered by the benefiting properties. <br />Duane Carlson, 1887 3r(I Street expressed his concern that he would be assessed for <br />the project, when he does not have property on the pond. Mr. Wyffels explained that <br />ome properties benefit from the pond visually. <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Mayor Larson to close the Public <br />Hearing. <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br />Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Bauman to hold <br />the public hearing on the proposed pond maintenance project and adopt the attached <br />resolution ordering the pond maintenance project within the existing storm sewer <br />improvement taxing district. <br />4 Ayes - ONays, Motion Carried. <br />Councilmember Burg abstained from voting, because she lives on the pond. <br />Council Business <br />1. Acceptance of the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and <br />Management Reports for Fiscal Year ending December 31, 2006. <br />Report No. 07 -149. <br />kirector of Finance Dan Maiers introduced Steve Wischmann representing Kern <br />DeWenter Viere. Mr. Wischmann reported the City of New Brighton received the <br />highest rating for achievement in financial reporting.
