MINUTES <br />New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br />Regular Meeting - June 12, 2007 <br />7:00 a.m. <br />Members/Liaisons Present: Dennis Flahave, Linda Harmon, Lisa Harreld, John Kaufhold, Steve Larson, Jim <br />Sculthorp, and Bruce Nustad. <br />Members/Liaisons Absent: Bob Benke, Gene Delaune, Annie Hoffman, Mark Nelson, and Gary Stang. <br />Staff Present: Dean Lotter, Grant Fernelius, David Black, Ken Nimmer, and Jennifer L,avandowska. <br />Call to Order <br />John Kaufhold called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the May 8, 2007 meeting were presented for approval. All approved with the following <br />additions: <br />In the Northwest Quadrant Report, West Side Site Plans: <br />Delaune questioned if the ponds will be interconnected. Black replied that the ponding on the cast and west <br />sides will be interconnected. Delaune recommended that if a culvert system is to be installed under Old <br />Highway 8 then a master plan for the ponding be completed before the reconstruction of Old Highway 8. <br />He suggested that the City would surely want to avoid having to later install such a system. <br />In the Northwest Quadrant Report, Project Management: <br />fle [Delaune] questioned who the primary negotiators for the railroad issues are. Fernelius replied that he <br />and John Gohmann, President and CEO for Minnesota Commercial Railroad, are the primary negotiators <br />and they are the ones to look for leadership on the resolution of these issues. <br />Announcement <br />Ilarreld announced that the Friends of Suburban Ramsey County Libraries is trying to increase its membership. <br />The committee is especially looking for dignitaries and she encouraged all the committee members to consider <br />joining. <br />Northwest Quadrant Report <br />West Side Site Plans <br />lack announced that a meeting was held with the PCA regarding the cleanup on the west side. The meeting <br />Tec lu ded Mike Kanner, the director of two out of the three departments responsible for this site. While no <br />isions were made, both sides understand the issues.
