Council Report - Council Member Burg
Council Member Burg relayed the following information:
• ¦ The API building is considering increasing their building size
• The Post Office site is now the property of the City of New Brighton
• The billboard south of the Post Office would make it impossible to have a
turn lane in that area. The City will be arranging purchase of the billboard.
• Timbercrest Apartments has submitted a mitigation plan to try and get
their license back. The City will not consider it until their outstanding
water bills are paid.
¦ New Brighton is a member of the 35W coalition. A review of the 35W
section that goes through New Brighton had not been done since 2003. So
the area was reviewed recently. The results of the review showed an
unacceptable number of incidents in that area. They will be installing a
cable divider from County Road B to County Road H. It should be
completed by September.
¦ Krause Anderson (New Brighton Village) does plan to break ground the
end of this month.

Discussion followed regarding the size of the API building. Concern was
expressed if the size could affect the trails framework which came about as part of
the Trails Strategic Planning process. The Trails Committee is currently working
on plans for the trail that will go right by that building.

V. Public Hearing

A.
