Page B — July 24, 2007 New Brighton Council Minutes <br />Assistant Director of Community Development David Black explained that <br />aving an AUAR (Alternate Urban Area wide Review) available provides <br />evelopers quick access to environmental information. The AUAR is <br />vailable for Public review as well. The report is in DVD format, allowing for <br />ease in updating. <br />Motion by Council Member Doffing, seconded by Council Member Hoffman to <br />publish a notice in the EQB monitor of the availability of the updated Northwest <br />Quadrant AUAR report. <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements, and Updates <br />Cily Manager Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter reported a candidate for the position of Code Enforcement Officer has been <br />selected. A work session related to the Northwest Quadrant is scheduled for Tuesday July <br />31 st. <br />Council Member Gina Bauman — Public Safety Commission <br />Councilmember Bauman reminded residents of the upcoming National Night Out <br />elebration; Tuesday, August 7tn <br />Council Member Mary Burg- Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission <br />Absent <br />Council Member Sharon Doffine - Planning Commission <br />Councilmember Doffing expressed her discontent with the Economic Development <br />Commission discussing redevelopment the southern portion of Old Highway 8 NW. <br />Councilmember Hoffman reported that it was discussed at the EDC meeting, but cautioned <br />people from thinking that any redevelopment will be happening soon. Councilmember <br />Doffing requested any future discussions be conducted by the Council, rather than the <br />advisory commissions. Councilmember Hoffman stated that any ideas commissioners <br />(and/ or citizens) feel appropriate should be discussed. Mayor Larson reported that over 10 <br />years ago a study was done on the Old Highway corridor, and requested all councilmembers <br />and EDC commissioners receive a copy of the study. <br />Council Member Ann Hoffman - Economic Development Commission <br />Councilmember Hoffman reported that Timber crest Apartments are under new ownership. <br />Mayor Larson <br />Mayor Larson attended the Aquatenial Parade with the Royal Family, the Admiral Award <br />was presented to the City of New Brighton for the design of the City's float. <br />The Stockyard Days scheduled was shared. Two employees announced their retirement; Al <br />Bauer- Public Works Superintendent and Mark Frieden- Assistant Fire Chief. <br />
