August 14, 1979 City of New Brighton Jack Bell, attorney, appeared representing Bottle Club License applicants. Eagles Report No. 79-460 After considerable discussion the Council acted in the.following manner: Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to direct staff to study and prepare proposed revisions to the liquor ordinance which would examine distance and food requirements and to report back at the August 28, 1979 meeting. 3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to refer proposed revisions to the liquor ordinance to the Citizens : tudy Committee for review and comment by the September 11, 1979 meeting. 3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to set the date and time for public hearing to consider the bottle club license application of the Eagles Club for September 11, 1979 at 7:40 p.m. 3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried The Director of Park and Recreation reviewed the contents of his report. Greg Harcus, 1620 Sioux Blvd., expressed concern over the proposed entrance off of 16th Avenue. He suggested that future communications with area residents could be improved. He reviewed the contents of a neighborhood petition and presented said petition to the Council. The mayor with the consent of the Council directed receipt and filing of the petition. Hansen Park Redevelop- ment Plan Report No. 79-458 Eileen McKee, 1621 Sioux Blvd., expressed concern regarding traffic at 5th Street and 16th Avenue and requested that consideration on this matter be tabled'until'further investigation is made with regard to traffic, safety, and cost factors. Gene Partyka, 1743 Sioux Blvd., spoke in opposition to relocating the entrance to Hansen Park to 16th Avenue. Leo Murlowski, 1897 Sioux Blvd., suggested no action be taken until additional study in regard to saftty. could be completed. -3-
