August 14, 1979 <br />City of New Brighton <br />Jack Bell, attorney, appeared representing Bottle Club License <br />applicants. Eagles <br />Report No. 79-460 <br />After considerable discussion the Council <br />acted in the.following manner: <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to direct <br />staff to study and prepare proposed revisions <br />to the liquor ordinance which would examine distance <br />and food requirements and to report back at the August <br />28, 1979 meeting. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to refer <br />proposed revisions to the liquor ordinance to <br />the Citizens : tudy Committee for review and comment <br />by the September 11, 1979 meeting. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />set the date and time for public hearing to <br />consider the bottle club license application <br />of the Eagles Club for September 11, 1979 <br />at 7:40 p.m. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />The Director of Park and Recreation <br />reviewed the contents of his report. <br />Greg Harcus, 1620 Sioux Blvd., expressed <br />concern over the proposed entrance off <br />of 16th Avenue. He suggested that future <br />communications with area residents could be <br />improved. He reviewed the contents of a <br />neighborhood petition and presented said <br />petition to the Council. The mayor with <br />the consent of the Council directed receipt <br />and filing of the petition. <br />Hansen Park Redevelop- <br />ment Plan <br />Report No. 79-458 <br />Eileen McKee, 1621 Sioux Blvd., expressed <br />concern regarding traffic at 5th Street <br />and 16th Avenue and requested that consideration <br />on this matter be tabled'until'further investigation <br />is made with regard to traffic, safety, and cost <br />factors. <br />Gene Partyka, 1743 Sioux Blvd., spoke in opposition <br />to relocating the entrance to Hansen Park to <br />16th Avenue. <br />Leo Murlowski, 1897 Sioux Blvd., suggested no action <br />be taken until additional study in regard to saftty. <br />could be completed. <br />-3- <br />
