2
Council Proceedings
City of New Brighton
January 24, 1979
Alvin Logelin, 933 11th Ave expressed concern
about the 11th Avenue to 10th Street connection.
Mayor Senden asked the County Engineer if he felt the
new intersection was far enough from the ramp on Long
Lake Road. The County Engineer responded that he felt
the 330 feet distance was adequate.
Ray Tilden, 427 10th Street (Liquid Scale) stated the
present plans called for the removal of his building
and suggested the road right of way be
extended to the north.
Dean Helgeson, 664 10th Street, requested that the
City Engineer explain what slope easement meant.
The City Engineer explained that the purpose of the
slope easement was to match the proposed new road
into the existing property.
Harold Bona, 669 10th Street, stated he did not
feel the improvement would benefit his property.
An area resident questioned what determines the need for
a semaphore.
Councilmember Benke reviewed the warrants necessary for
installation of a semaphore.
Duane Waldoch, 540 10th Street, asked if the potential problems
on the west end of 10th Street would delay the improvements
of the 10th Street project.
Gertrude Lange, 866 3rd Avenue NW, questioned whether she
would be affected by the project. She was informed that
she would not be in the improvement district.
Vincent Urgo, 960 11th Avenue, questioned the
alignment of 11th Avenue.
Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to direct the engineering
department to investigate the following alternates to
the 10th Street Upgrading plan:
1. The cost of a 52 foot roadway west of the Minnesota
Transfer tracks.
2. Provide for a 12 degree curve south of the Long Lake
bridge.
