I 4 <br />2 <br />Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />March 8, 1977 <br />Council Business <br />Mayor Bromander directed, with the consent of the Council, <br />that the following be received and placed in the minutes: HRA <br />HRA Redevelopment Plan Redevelopment <br />Petition from residents in the area of 9th Avenue Plan <br />Letters from Johnson Division, dated March 4, 1977 <br />Letter from Ronna Ruth Cress, dated Feb. 28, 1977 <br />Compendium of documents regarding HRA redevelopment plan <br />(HRA Redevelopment Plan and Compendium of documents filed in Mgr Office) <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Werdouschegg to set date and <br />time and place for special hearing on HRA Redevelopment Plan <br />for March 29, 1977, 7:30 p.m., Irondale High School <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes- carried Hearing <br />March 29 <br />Ms Raynell Miller, 549 9th Avenue, stated that the 7:30 <br />residents in the area of 9th Avenue were upset with the <br />proposed Phase 3 in the Redevelopment Plan and wanted the <br />area to remain commercial. She stated the commercial <br />buildings did not disturb the area residents, that there was <br />light traffic in the area and the commercial businesses were <br />neat and clean. She stated she would like to see the old <br />downtown area fixed up. <br />Allen A. Otte, representing UOP Johnson, asked whether the <br />Council would respond to the questions raised by UOP Johnson <br />by March 18. <br />Mayor Bromander stated that a response would not be provided <br />by March 18 since the Council hearing on the matter would not <br />be held until the 29th of March. <br />Dorvan Moen, 481 10th Avenue N.W., asked whether there was any <br />way of knowing whether the Council would take a firm action on <br />the 29th of March. <br />Mayor Bromander stated that there was no way of knowing at <br />this time. <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to direct administration to <br />secure a faeility for a date between March 29 and April 8 <br />to be used in case the Council did not complete its action at <br />the March 29th hearing. <br />4 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Raphael Doroff, 518 9th Avenue NW., asked whether the entire <br />plan would be subject to hearing at the March 29th meeting. <br />Mayor Bromander responded that it would be. <br />
