4 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: The Board of Review, The Planning Commission <br />and the City Council of the City of New Brighton <br />DATE: March 9, 1977 <br />RE: Falcon Oil Company's Request for a Variance Permit <br />for the Erection of a Canopy at its Service Station <br />at 2051 Silver Lake Road, New Brighton, Minnesota. <br />On Tuesday, February 22, 1977,Falcon Oil Company <br />appeared before the City Council.of the City of New Brighton, <br />as scheduled, fora public hearing in regards to its request <br />for a variance permit. Mr.. Barry Johnson, a City Planner, <br />began the hearing by presenting to Council and the public a <br />summary of the Planning Commission's reasons for recommending <br />that the variance permit request be denied, <br />After Mr, Johnson completed his presentation we <br />presented to Council the reasons for which we believed the <br />variance permit should be granted. We presented additional <br />information which was not previously available to the Planning <br />Commission at the time the variance was first considered. The <br />following summarizes our presentation: <br />After acknowledging that several nonconformities <br />exist on the property, we explained to Council which of the <br />nonconformities we intend to either completely eliminate or <br />reduce: <br />
