Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />March 22, 1977 <br />Mr. Rebelein suggested that the Council direct the Planning <br />Commission to jointly study the issue with the Housing <br />Authority's Task Force. He noted it was the Housing <br />Authority's plan to first start with industrial codes and <br />then commercial codes and finally residential codes. He <br />stated he felt the first item of business should be preparation <br />of a work program with a timetable. <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to endorse the proposal of <br />the Housing Authority Task Force to study codes but to not <br />endorse a joint task force of Planning Commission and <br />Housing Authority and to direct the Planning Commission study <br />group to coordinate its study with the Housing Authority and <br />to direct the Planning Commission chairperson to act as <br />liaison with Commissioner Rebelein to maintain communication <br />linkages between the two groups and to direct the Planning <br />Commission chairperson towork with Commissioner Rebelein in the <br />preparing of a joint work program to be presented to the <br />Council for review within two months. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to direct administration tc <br />forward a copy of the above motion and the Housing Authority <br />memorandums to the New Brighton Business Association and to the <br />executive vice president of the North Suburban Chamber of <br />Commerce and to invite them to participate in the study. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Task Force <br />Study Codes <br />Mayor Bromander directed, with consent of the Council, that the <br />memo from Fritz MK Werdouschegg, dated March 16, 1977, be <br />received and placed in the minutes. R-93 <br />Councilman Werdouschegg reviewed his memo. Rezoning to <br />lotion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Senden to initiate P.C. <br />rezoning and refer it to the Planning Commission <br />3 ayes - 2 nayes (Fisher, Hardt) - carried <br />Mayor Broamnder directed, with consent of the Council, that <br />letter from Mayor of the City of Coon Rapids, dated Feb. 7, 1977 <br />Re; domed stadium in the northern suburbs be received and placed <br />in the minutes. <br />Mike Mulrooney, Economic Development Coordinator for the City of <br />Coon Rapids, provided the Council with background as to the City of <br />Coon Rapids' proposal to build multi purpose domed stadium <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Bromander to waive reading <br />of resolution and adopt resolution Endorsing Keith -Patton Non -Site <br />Bill, such resolution to be sent <br />to area legislators and Metro Council. <br />2 ayes - 2 nayes (Hardt, Fisher) Senden abstained <br />Motion failed. <br />
