COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to due call and published notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the New Brighton City Council was held at 8:OO p.m. Tuesday, <br />Jan 25, 1977, in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 803 5th <br />Avenue NW, New Brighton, Mn <br />Present: Mayor Gayle C. Bromander, Councilmen Gene Fisher, Paul Hardt, <br />Jim Senden, Fritz Werdouschegg <br />Also Thomas F. Lewcock, City Manager; John F. Bannigan, Jr., Asst. <br />Present: City Attorney; Vernon C. Pederson, City Clerk; Barry P. Johnson, <br />Director Community Development; James F. Winkels, City Planner <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Hardt to approve Minutes <br />minutes of special meeting of Jan. 11, 7:00 p.m. and <br />regular meeting of Jan 11, 8:50 p.m., 1977. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Special order of Business <br />CommendationF <br />Mayor Bromander reviewed the work done by Officer <br />Police <br />Brouillet and Officer LaVasseur in the solving of <br />officers <br />a major burglarly outbreak within the City. He <br />noted that the officers had done much of the work on <br />their own time. Based upon the work done, the <br />Mayor presented commendations to both officers for <br />exemplary performance beyond the normal call of duty and <br />further expressed thanks to the officers on behalf of <br />the City Council. <br />Citizens <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Werdouschegg to <br />Study <br />receive report "Park and Ride for New Brighton" <br />Committee <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Report <br />(The official copy of the report is filed in the <br />City Clerk's office) <br />Florence Peterson, past chairperson of the Citizen's Park & <br />Study Committee reviewed the 1976 study report of the Ride <br />Committee on Park and Ride facilities for New Brighton. <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Hardt to receive MTC <br />letter from Metropolitan Transit Commission dated Jan 3, <br />1977, re: Park -Ride facilities. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Werdouschegg to direct <br />administration to notify the Metropolitan Transit Commission <br />of the City's interest in having a Park and Ride facility <br />in the downtown area of New Brighton, and to direct the <br />administration to explore with MTC the various possibilities <br />for such a facility and to direct administration to transmit a <br />copy of the CSC report to MTC. <br />5 ayes- Q`nayes- carried <br />
