Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />Feb. 22, 1977 <br />Snow stated if the Council was not of a mind to approve <br />the variance that it remand the question to the Planning <br />Commission for further review based on the additional <br />information provided. <br />Councilman SendenDasked what the cost would be to move the <br />pump island. <br />Ahlberg estimated $5,000. <br />Councilman Senden asked how far the pump islands were <br />f rom the building. <br />It was estimated that the distance was 35 feet. <br />Councilman Senden asked if the tanks would have to be moved <br />if the pumps were moved. <br />Ahlberg said that was not necessary. <br />Mayor Bromander directed, with consent of the Council, <br />the consent agreements from various persons residing <br />in the area of Falcon Oil station be received and <br />placed in the minutes. <br />Norman Harris,: manager of Falcon Oil and resident on <br />Leona Drive stated there were four New Brighton residents <br />working at the station. He expressed concern of the lost <br />employment should the station close. <br />Vince Dahle, New Brighton resident, spoke in favor of the <br />variance. <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Fisher to close hearing <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Werdouschegg to reconsider <br />closing of the hearing. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes carried <br />Motion.by Hardt, seconded by Werdouschegg to continue <br />hearing to March 22, at 8:30 <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes - carried <br />Mayor Bromander with consent of the Council, directed the <br />letter from Mr. Snow be received and placed in the minutes <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to refer the application <br />back to the Planning Commission with the new materials that <br />had been supplied and to request the applicant to review the <br />possibilities and costs in moving the pump islands and to <br />direct the Planning Commission to consider this possibility. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />M <br />Falcon Oil <br />Continued to <br />March 22, <br />8:30 <br />Councilman Fisher stated for the record: <br />1. Council practice has allowed small deviations in setbacks <br />on additional structures for reasons of hardship <br />constituted by the placement of present structures. <br />
