Council Proceedings 2k
City of New Brighton
Dec. 28, 1976
Mr. Skiba responded that he had similar concerns;
however, he had waited for some time for a decision as to
whether plans for the street system would be altered
and what the comprehensive plan for the area would call for.
He stated that he did not wish to wait any longer for
these decisions and therefore p referred to go ahead
with the proposed plat.
Al Logelin, 933 11th Avenue, questioned the zoning on
the property.
Maryor Bromander responded it was zoned as single family.
Mr. Logelin stated he was in favor of the plat and
variance as long as the property remained single family.
Councilman Werdouschegg questioned what was contemplated
for the area in the comprehensive plan and whether there
was a slope to the west of the property.
The Building and Planning Coordinator stated the
comprehensive plan showed the area as single family and
that there was a very steep slope on the western side of
the property•
2.
Motion by Fisher, seconded by Hardt to close hearing. Close
5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried Hearing
Motion by Fisher, seconded by Werdouschegg to.waive reading
of a resolution and to adopt resolution entitled
RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING RESOLUTION
APPLICATION FOR VN -166 such resolution to include the NO. 1815 A
following findings of fact:
1. That theparcelis of such size that only three
lots could be created meeting the minimum lot
width of 75 feet;
2. That with a variance four lots with a lot width of
74'6" could be..created each lot having almost.
double the city's minimum lot area requirement;
3. That a 74 foot 6" lot width is not significantly
different from a 75 foot lot width;
4. That hardship would be created by not allowing four
lots based -upon the above unique circumstances;
5. That no special privilege would accrue to the property
in permitting four lots because of the oversized
area.of the lots and small deviation in lot width.
5 ayes- 0 nayes -carried
Councilman Werdouschegg inquired as to the property line on
the;plat and as to;whether the south property line was, in fact,
south of 8th Street.
