Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />Dec. 28, 1976 <br />The Building and Planning Coordinator indicated that <br />that was the case; however, the property South of <br />8th Street was in the street right of way. <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Senden to approve <br />preliminary plat PL -108 <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />1� 3 <br />VN -167 <br />Attorney stated hearing was properly called. McGillis & <br />The Building and planning Coordinator reviewed the Gibbs <br />planning report and the Planning Commission recommendations. <br />Bob Norgard, manager McGillis & Gibbs, was present <br />to respond to Council questions. <br />Mr. Norgard stated his objections to the staff making <br />recommendations as to improvements which should be <br />made to the property and which were only their personal <br />opinions. He stated that he would prefer to plant trees <br />along the boundary line rather than to construct a fence <br />which would probably be damaged. <br />In reply to a question from Councilman Fisher, Mr. Norgard <br />also stated that there was not sufficient space on the <br />property to set the pile of poles further back from the <br />propery line. <br />Motion by Fisher, seconded by Hardt to close hearing. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Councilman Fisher inquired as to the width of the <br />boulevard. <br />Mr. Norgard stated 'there was a 7 foot boulevard, then a <br />fence and 5 or 6 feet between the fence and <br />the poles. <br />Councilman Hardt inquired as to where parking was <br />occurring on the property. <br />Mr. Norgard responded that employee parking was along <br />the property line. <br />Mayor Bromander questioned how long the trailer would <br />be in use. <br />Mr Norgard said he did not know. <br />Counilman Senden asked what kind of planting was <br />contemplated. <br />Mr. Norgard stated there would be 4 foot tall trees <br />which would rapidly grow to heights of 20 feet. <br />Councilman Senden asked whether the parking area could <br />be oiled or surfaced. <br />8-31 to 9:03 <br />Close <br />Hearing <br />
