Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />Dec.. 2, 1976 <br /> <br />la <br />Impr 7?-3 <br />Glen Norstad, 1143 Robin Lane, stated opposition to all <br />alternates. He presented a petition to the city Council,. <br />Motion by Fisher, seconded by Werdouschegg to receive petition <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Robert Petrick,1171 Pike Lake Drive <br />Dean Steffe, 1158 Pike Lake Drive - <br />Pat Foley, 1301 Pike Lake Drive <br />all stated they were in agreement with the contents of <br />the petition although they had not had opportunity to <br />signt. <br />Phillip Goodrick, 1129 Pike Lake Drive, stated he did not <br />believe any change should be made since the alternates <br />simply shifted the traffic burden. <br />Charles Selby, 1261 North Court, stated he was in favor <br />of Alternate No. 2. <br />Mrs. Tom Breslin, 1246 North Court, stated concern with <br />children in the area of 13th Street. She stated there had <br />been many close calls in the area and there was the problem of snow <br />build up on side of 13th Street. <br />Bernard Debar, 2101 13th Street NW., stated he was in favor <br />of Alternate No. 2. He added that the counts taken in <br />the summer and winter were perhaps not comparable and he <br />further stated concern with the traffic hazard at Palmer <br />Drive and Robin Lane. <br />Dale DeVries, 1129 Thorndale, asked whether there was <br />any pro~ectian as to traffic based on the new routing. The <br />Buildirx~ and Planning Coordinator stated that there was <br />same feel for what would occur but that with techniques <br />and methods available to the Planning Dept., there was no <br />firm way of knowing. <br />Gordon Asselstine, 1073 Pa.ke Lake Drive, .. <br />stated opposition to all alternates. <br />Harold Foley, 1301 Pike Lake Drive noted that no one north of <br />13th Street on Pike Lake Drive had signed the petition. <br />Don Slack, 1061 Pike Lake Drive, stated opposition to <br />alternates but suggested that sidewalks and other safety <br />devises should be considered for the area. <br />Georgia Steffe, 1158 Pike Lake Drive, stated it <br />was toossoon to make any change to the road system. <br />Walter Martin, 2431 17th Ave., NW, stated he did not believe <br />the prohibition of right turns from the shopping center should <br />continue. He noted he used to travel through the area but with <br />road changes qn Silver Lake Road, he no longer did so. <br />
