Council Proceedings
City of New Brighton
Dec. 2, 1976
lam" .
Richard May, 1999 i9A Street, made the following statements
re: 20th Avenue N.W.
1. Development was not complete on both sides of the roadway.
2. Council should not proceed with improvement until policy
of assessment is decided upon.
3. Would property value increase due to the improvement.
Dr. Donald Erickson, 900 Redwood Lane, stated that for many
years there have been many water line breaks on Redwood.
He stated that he did not feel an overlay would resolve
this problem as the underlying groblem was the watermain.
Pat Cobb questioned when the overlayed roads would start
aging for future assessment purposes.
The Engineer responded in 1977.
Richard Ginkel, 2800 16th Street NW, asked how close
the cost estimates were likely to be.
The Engineer responded that there was no way to know with-
any certainty; however, the last phase of overlays were
approximately 10~ under estimate.
Pat. Cobb stated he agrees that Mounds Avenue needs work.
He questioned, however, whether property owners should be
responsible for paying in that it appeared the road was not
constructed to City specifications.- He also questioned
whether the overlay would resolve the problem because of
sub-surface problems.
The following spoke in opposition to the noted improvement:
John Myslajek, 1820 Long Lake Road -- 20th Avenue
Ron Menzhuber, 3078 I6th St. N6~T -- 36th St. NW
Jim Hollen, 284© I6th St. Nfn1 -- 16th St. NW
Gary Eilefson, 1870 20th Ave. --- 20th Ave. NHI
Dale Tilden, 2430 Mounds Ave. -- Mounds Ave.
Keith Johnson, 1454 19th Ave. -- 19th Avenue
Dan McGuire, 1730 20th Ave. -- 20th Ave. NW
Florence Myslajek, 1820 Long Lake Road-- 20th Ave. N6~7
Richard May, 1999 19A St. -- 20th Ave. NW
Richard Ginkel, 2800 16th St. -- 16th Street NW
Allen Lundgren, 765 Redwood Lane -- Redwood Lane
Don Erickson, 900 Redwood Lane -- Redwood Lane
Jane Peterson, 582 Redwood Lane -- Redwood Lane
Danial Zack, 1719 20th Avenue -- 20th Avenue NW
Ken Sibben, 851 Redwood Lane -- Redwood Lane
Peter Grotodclen, 3077 16th St. 16th Street
Wayne Paulson, 2737 16th Street -- 3.6th Street
3
