Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />Dec. 2, 1976 <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Hardt to receive <br />letter from Michael Grimshaw, dated Nov. 29, 1976 <br />4 ayes- 0 nayes -carried <br />Florence Myslajek, 1820 Long Lake Road, asked at what date <br />20th Avenue was constructed. <br />The Engineer responded that his records indicate the <br />road .was constructed in 1968. <br />Keith Johnson, 1454 19th Avenue NW. asked that the ages of <br />each of the roads be reported to the audience. <br />Mayor Bromander read the ages of the roads as contained <br />in the Engineer's report. <br /> <br />Allen Lundgren, 765 Redwood Lane, asked whether the roads <br />-had been overlayed previously and whether manholes and <br />catch basins would be raised. <br />The City Engineer responded that none of the roads had <br />been overlayed previously and that manholes would <br />be raised to meet the new grade and that catch basins may <br />or may not be raised depending on whether or not that was <br />required in a given instance. <br />Pate Cobb, 2060 Long Lake Road, asked what would be done <br />with missing curbs, how thick the overlay would be, and <br />whether the improvement would rectify heaving problems. <br />The Engineer responded that missing curbs would be replaced. <br />that lZ inch bituminous overlay at the center, tapered to <br />the gutter, would be constructed and that depressions in <br />the roadway would be bridged prior to the finished overlay. <br />Ronald Menzhuber, 3078 16th NW, questioned the figures <br />on assessable footage. <br />The Engineer read the assessable footage not ing that this <br />included both sides of each street. <br />Councilman Fisher arrived, 7:22 p.m. <br />i~ <br />Letter <br />Grimshaw <br />Gary Eilefson, 1870 20th Avenue, presented a letter to <br />the Council from Mr. Ken Johnson. Letter - <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Sender to receive letter Johnson <br />from Ken Johnson, 1776 20th Avenue NW, dated Dec. 2, 1976. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Mr. Eilefson went on to state that he knew of only two <br />defects in 20th Avenue NW, both of which resulted from <br />water breaks. He questioned why the land owner would be <br />responsible for this. <br />2 <br />
